"Whale Wars"
As an aside- do you think it would boost the ratings of "Whale Wars" if the activists were allowed to have and use military-grade weaponry?
I watched the show the other night and they had this "secret weapon"- a special rope thta can, if properly placed, wrap around a ship's propellor and disable it for quite some time. However it became painfully obvious that the activists didn't have any skill in pulling off such a mission.
But anyway here is what I propose:
For every whale killed they get to arm and fire one torpedo.
Their helicopter gets armed.
To stop a hunt they get smaller charges that can only be used to disable the boats without harming the hunters.
RPGs. Can't have a war without RPGs.
Also give them a group of techies that can help them better launch their old arsenal.

I'm assuming you're half kidding. But the issue of why SSCS does use things like potato guns to launch their acid bottles is covered in some of the deleted scenes at the Whale Wars website. Basically, they don't want to give the Japanese any reason to retaliate with live ammunition, and feel that launching anything onto the deck of the poaching ships by any other means other than throwing would cause a massive escalation of violence.

Escalate the violence.
Should we poll the whales?
"Don't Kill the Whales" Yes- Tormato

My 6 year old asked me why people kill whales because whales don't hurt anybody.
I told her there are many disturbed people in this world who do many unreasonable things.
And then I tell her that is why I think it is OK to torpedo the whaling ships.

Torpedoing ships is reasonable? Do you also tell your 6 year old that putting a cap in the ass of shoplifter is alright?
Exactly where does unreasonable begin?
At 9:08 AM, Joe G said…
Yes torpedoing ships that kill whales is very reasonable.
People can survive a torpedoed ship clownie.
Perhaps not all will survive but then they shouldn't have sugned on to a job that needlessly kills peaceful animals.
And if the shoplifter kills a person during the crime then yes it is reasonable to shoot that person.

BTW shooting someone in the ass is not fatal.

First, shooting someone in the ass COULD be fatal.
Second, people can also DIE by being in a torpedoed ship.
Third, you forgot to tell us where unreasonable begins.

First, shooting someone in the ass COULD be fatal.-
Yes if it gets infected.
Second, people can also DIE by being in a torpedoed ship.-
Yes I said that.
Third, you forgot to tell us where unreasonable begins.-
This thread isn't about that.

Well, sure, but the other thread IS about specified information and you refuse to talk about that, so I was unclear that you had rigid topicality rules.

Except that I said exactly what I wanted to about "information".
So just because I won't go down your one-way dead-end commentary road, that doesn't mean I didn't talk about it.

IOW Erik just because I refuse to let you continue to try to take threads off-topic doesn't mean I am not discussing the topic.
